West Ham did not really win the 1966 World Cup
|
So STOP SAYING IT, it's embarrassing (EMBARRASSING)
Pivotal players? Yes.
Were the England 11 all West Ham? No.
Time to stop it. It's desperate, almost as if we've got nothing else to celebrate as a Club.
SECOND EVER CLUB TO WIN A EUROPEAN TROPHY (after Spurs) is the one I punt out and the other one is WE'RE MOVING TO A UEFA CATEGORY FOUR STADIUM.
So take that (TAKE THAT)

Captain as West Ham Both goalscorers were West Ham Three of the four goals were from near-post crosses (a West Ham-invented move, at Casserati's Café + Chadwell Heath) 4-4-2 formation: developed at West Ham, as an evolution of the formation Hungary had previously used

With regard to the original post Spurs WERE the second club to win a european trophy, you overlook the exploits of West Auckland FC in the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy in 1909 and then they repeated the feat with a 6-1 mullering of Juventus in 1911

You're absolutely right!
To make matters worse I was at the Wembley q.final when Geoff Hurst scored & Rattin was sent off!
I forgot all about the s.final for some reason!

Why is Hurst always a miserable sod in interviews...
Comfortably Set for life...yet comes across s a misery...
Is there something in his life ..we don't know about...???

There are very few bits of our songs that are actually true, as many on here have pointed out. Especially for those that get it wrong and sing "They touch the sky".
The only words I can think of that are nearly always true are "Fortune's Always Hiding". However, I have great hopes of Bilic that he will in time make these wrong too.

There are even t-shirts out there which say we "won" the world cup so that proves it.

Ag ag ag
It is a fact that infuriates supporters of other teams. I did ask a Chelsea fan, what exactly their club has ever contributed to England at international level and suggested it was NOTHING. There was no intelligible reply.

Its no surprise that England have won nothing since. The requirement is for three happy Hammers in the team, one replacing a Spurs player who has had a chip on his shoulder since. Until that is the case, England will not win a trophy.
Some of that may be bollocks

Re: Jack Flash: Bobby Charlton scored both goals in the semi final. Hurst scored the only goal in the 1/4 final (from a superb Peters near post cross).

Don't be such a twat, it's done tongue in cheek!
If you can compose a song that celebrates us being the 2nd team to win a European trophy, please post it here and maybe we will start singing it!
